A new term and new challenges for Green Tomatoes.

Last term was a great success with 100% pass rate for our Bronze and Silver Arts Award students . Well done to them !

Our new term brings a new BTEC course we are very excited about delivering this course which is called Work Skills but has given us the opportunity to incorporate cooking and opening a pop up restuarant!!!!
After a great performing arts summer school at Hampton Bishop, Nicola School of Dance, Jenny Frost and Green Tomatoes are opening a Performing Arts School on Monday evenings at the 6th form college. If you are 5 - 16 come along at 5pm on the 26th and see for yourself. We are hoping to create a great Performing Arts Company.

What a great term

Another New Term starts tomorrow and that made me realise I haven't beeen very good at keeping the blog up to date ...woops. Anyway last term was great for Green Toms, we worked in a number of schools doing some great things. A well being day at Clifford, an aspirational day at whitecross where we worked with the whole of year 10and Friday mornings with the girls from St Davids. The ongoing work with John Kyrle has been going really well thanks to a very supportive relationship with the school. Our 4 groups have made great progress and in particiular yr 10 & 11. The year 11 group raised over £3000 in order to realise their dream of making a survival documentry. The youth opportunity fund have made it possible for two of our groups to really explore their creativity and we are very grateful, sadly i think this is the last year of the fund but Green Tomatoes would like to say thank you to all involved. Anyway On April 13th 12 young people and 5 staff set off for the welsh mountains to SURVIVE!!! It was a great few days and it was great to see the group bond and have such fun. Keep an eye out for the edited film which pete is busy working on right now! Hopefully there will be lots of exciting new developments this term.

New website new year!!!!!
We have had a pretty busy half term, with new workshops at St Davids and Fairfield and even crossing over into Worcestershire!

Last term we worked with a group of BTEC students from John Kyrle on a play to promote CAF across the county. January brought the day of reckoning our first show. We will be touring the play around every school hopefully but first show was at the Academy. The group were fantastic so confident and together- I was a bag of nerves! So far we have been to John Masefield, Weobley twice and Queen Elizabeth Bromyard, all going really well apart from the occasional technical glitch!

Green Tomatoes continue to deliver the Arts Award Bronze and Silver. This week our JKHS YR 11's finally completed and performed their play Teechers, and they now go on to make their Survivor documentry very exciting .

lets see what this half term brings.......................
